White poha or flattened white rice is made from white rice which is flattened into flat, light, dry flakes originating from the Indian subcontinent. Rice is parboiled before flattening so that it can be consumed with very little to no cooking.
Thick beaten rice absorbs more liquids and hence retains the flavours. Other popular names are Avalakki, Rice flakes flattened rice, beaten rice, poha, atukulu and aval. Very easy to cook and is convenient to make a variety of quick snacks. Easy to digest.
